What is Quartz?
Quartz is a hard white or colorless mineral found widely in rocks and minerals. It is often colored by impurities (as in amethyst, citrine, and cairngorm).
Where is Quartz found?
Quartz can form in cracks of granite, sandstone and other rocks. Quartz that is found in these cracks is called a "vein" of quartz.
